Duration:
January 1, 2007 – December 31, 2010

Background:
Intensive agriculture is one of the most significant agricultural sectors in Spain. Advanced R&D is required to push Spain to the front line of the agri-food technology. Results obtained in this field will go beyond, boosting other industrial and service activities.

Objectives:
The main goal of the project is to develop a new concept for an advanced greenhouse, highly automated, efficient in the consumption of water and energy, and which allows diverse and profitable growing under all climate conditions in Spain during all seasons. More specifically, the contribution of PSA-CIEMAT is the introduction of solar energy in the system, both for cogeneration and for water disinfection.
