China’s 2024 edition of its annual CSP Blue Book is published

The “Blue Book” compiled annually by the China Solar Thermal Alliance (CSTA) provides valuable supporting data on the current status of China’s concentrating solar power (CSP) industry.

Now the 2024 edition of China’s very detailed Blue Book updates the data of China’s CSP development, with the enabling legislation listed by month and by province, and provides all the details of the operation of th CSP projects completed (838 MW), under construction (3,300 MW), and in development (4,800) as of the end of 2024.

This includes the power prices and investment costs of CSP projects in China, pathways to lowering costs, and technical and economic comparisons of CSP with molten salt with other solar and storage options.

It lists the main players in China’s CSP industry, the manufacturing capacity there, the challenges faced, and policy recommendations for the development of China’s CSP industry.
